Application season for 2025-2026 opens in early Fall, with some private schools opening in early September and Chicago Public Schools’ application window for CPS K-9th grade applications will be open from Sept 24, 2024 to Nov 15, 2024. CPS’s Rolling Waitlists are still open for the 2024-2025 school year. Check your waitlist status via the GoCPS portal.

SEES Testing 9/21/24 from 10am-12pm: “What’s on the Test?” seminar on CPS Elementary Selective Enrollment testing for Gifted and Classical schools geared to PreK-6th grade families. Register now.
High School Fair 9/29/24 from 1-4pm: Hidden Gems High School Fair geared to middle school families looking to understand their high school search. Includes information sessions and opportunities to talk in depth with admissions representatives from public, private and boarding high schools. Registration is now open.
NPN Preschool & Elementary Fair 10/6/24 from 9am-12pm: CPS Elementary School Search seminar at 11:30am by Chicago School GPS geared to PreK & Elementary families. Register now.

Chicago School GPS grew out of the collective experiences of 3 Chicago moms who, after wading into the waters of the increasingly confusing and confounding school search process, successfully arrived at our school destinations. Over the years, we felt that there had to be a “better way”, and we felt that our experience in navigating the overwhelming private and public school search could be shared with other Chicago families.
